Deyo Family Association
and Huguenot Historical Society
The Deyo Family Association was founded in 1964 and organized
under the sponsorship of the Huguenot Historical Society.
The initial project of the Deyo Family Association was the
purchase and furnishing of the Pierre Deyo House on Huguenot Street in New Paltz
(of which the original stone walls are part). Presently the association has two
purposes - the continuing and proper maintenance of the Deyo House and support
of the overall Huguenot Historical Society which owns, manages and safeguards
all the Patentee properties along Huguenot Street and vicinity.
The Society also maintains historical documents and
genealogical records of all the 12 original founding families.
The Deyo Family Association elects officers at an annual
October meeting in New Paltz, generally held the first Saturday of the month.
Membership is open to anyone interested in the aims of the Deyo Family
Association and of the Huguenot Historical Society. Huguenot descent is not a
requirement.
Genealogical research is one of the Deyo Family's main
interests and responsibilities. Our genealogist Esther Aldridge will be happy
to receive all information about your family for our new genealogy and records.
